New Jersey nurses face job loss for refusing to assist abortions

I read about this story, and both you and anyone else who thinks this is some kind of crime can rightly fuck off. If you refuse to do the job that you are assigned to perform, then that job is not for you. There are plenty of hospitals who (for their own twisted reasons) refuse this practice, so jog off to one of those, but if you’re signing up for a job which has the potentiality to place you in a situation that you “are against,” then don’t go bitching about it.
The biggest argument is that by “forcing” these nurses (who consciously agreed to the job, being that they applied and obviously accepted the position) to assist in abortions, the Hospital is in some way violating their Religious beliefs.
And that mentality too can rightly fuck off. Religious beliefs are personal, and this delusional idea that a person’s own Religion is somehow protected and sacred in a world where millions of others hold a similar idea of protected religion (or no religion at all,) is outrageous. What if one of the nurses refusal to assist lead to the harm of one of the patients? But no, let’s focus on someone’s precious religion before we focus on a woman’s life.
These nurses are not martyrs or victims of anything, so please, stop making them out to be. And you are doing that—your little “infanticide,” “murder,” and “babies” tags did not go unnoticed. Look up what the fuck each of those words really means before you decide to go preaching against abortion, because those words have abso-fucking-loutely nothing to do with abortions.
If you don’t want to do the job, then find a new job, or make sure you do the damn research into the position before you apply. I mean, if this is such a big deal to these nurses, then why on earth did they attempt employment at a facility which they probably would have known performed the procedure?
Honestly.
People in the world today.

I’m a vegetarian. If I got a job as a waitress at Outback Steakhouse and then refused to carry steaks to people who want to eat steaks, I’d deserve to be fired.
And with the horrible economy, I’m sure there are plenty of people eager to step up and carry steaks/assist in medical procedures. You won’t be missed.
